Project Management Intern
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Management Intern to join our team at Steel Suppliers Erectors, Inc., a leading provider of structural steel solutions. As a Project Management Intern, you will assist our team with a variety of tasks related to estimating, planning, execution, and monitoring of structural steel projects. This is a hands-on, learning-focused role that will provide exposure to the construction and steel fabrication industries while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Assistance: Support project managers with project coordination and assist with the scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Documentation: Help maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, blueprints, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and meeting notes.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist in coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
- Scheduling: Assist in preparing project schedules, track milestones, and help ensure that deadlines are met.
- Site Visits: Occasionally visit construction sites to track project progress and assist in onsite assessments.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in project management within the construction or structural steel industry.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
- Previous experience in construction or project management (internships, school projects, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
